Living Area Makeover

Electric Banana Wall by Adrienne Gelardi

I call this color…
⚡️🍌 Electric Banana 🍌⚡️

This was supposed to get done like over a year ago but HEY! It’s done NOW! A big push to finish painting my whole living area before starting all the summer commissions finally pays off!

It used to be a medium grey clay color, pumpkin orange and pumpernickel brown! Plans in the works to paint a backsplash around the stove but probably not until winter when I’m less busy!

The most exciting but unexpected thing I noticed is during the day the yellow brightens up the whole room, but in the evening when we just have indoor lighting the blue wall in the back is the one that’s illuminated. I love it! Hoping it will help with my sleep cycle lol

I had to buy a specialty paint color for the yellow! It’s Fluorescent Yellow by Nova Color mixed with Ultra Pure White by Behr. This will be a fun experiment because Fluorescents are not very lightfast so I’m wondering how much it will fade. I coated it with Sherwin-Williams Sher-Cryl HPA to protect from smudges and UV rays.

Other Behr colors used: Ashen Tan (cream color), Night Club (black), and Fresh Tone (light blue on back wall, Gem Turquoise (counter supports), Elemental Gray (counter & behind stove), and Metallic Rose Gold on outlet covers by Rust-Oleum
