Terms & Conditions

By hiring (paying a deposit to) Adrienne Gelardi you are entering into a binding contract and agree to the following Terms & Conditions listed on this page.    

*I will share your contact info and address with trusted relatives for my safety (but won’t ever share it for marketing purposes).

*I reserve the right to cancel an order at any time if I have safety concerns regarding the home, business, or persons I am visiting.

*Cancelling your order will cause a forfeit of any non-refundable retainer fees or deposits you have made towards services you ordered and will not be refunded.

*I do not accommodate last minute changes. Do not ask me to do additional or different work when I arrive no matter how small the change is. I have to plan and implement each design and I have allotted a certain amount of time for your appointment and done prep work before arriving. 

*Any changes to your order after our initial agreed upon amount may result in additional fees. As soon as you know you might want something different please let me know at least a week before your appointment. If you want to change your order, the more time you give me in advance the more likely I will be able to accommodate your order change. Depending on the circumstances even if you let me know a week ahead of time I still may not be able to accommodate changes.

*Rescheduling services may incur a fee of 20% of your total order.

*If you cancel items/services on your order after paying the initial retainer fee you will be charged a 20% fee for the cost of items/services you have cancelled.

*If measurements/photos/information provided for quote was inaccurate additional cost may be incurred (Example 1: wall is larger than described, therefore it will be more expensive than the quote, Example 2: surface is in worse shape than it looked in the photo and sanding/priming is now required, etc.)

*I keep all extra paint. If you wish to keep the extra paint I charge extra for that depending on the amount of paint.

*I use the color “Bleached Linen” (by Behr) for all of my line work on doors. I charge an extra fee to use a different color for line work if I have to purchase an additional color.

*If paint previously used on surface was oil based, I will charge an extra fee to sand/prime the surface so that I can use my acrylic/latex based paint.

*Switching from dark to light or light to dark colors may require additional priming. If I have issues with paint coverage due to switching between to drastically different colors I may add a charge for additional time spent priming.


APPOINTMENT PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS

I don’t charge hourly for my time so delays that cause me to take more time or put me in harms way will be charged at my discretion in increments of $50 depending on how I perceive the severity.

*I paint around trim/knobs/handles. I do not tape. I do not remove hardware or decorations. You will need to remove these things prior to our appointment if you would like me to paint behind them.

*Please ensure all pets and children are restrained from entering work area (they tend to subconsciously gravitate towards wet paint!). Note: I have no known allergies so that’s not an issue!

*Bathroom: I totally understand if you do not want me to use your restroom but unfortunately it takes significantly longer if there is not one available on location so I will have to add a fee for this.

*Garage Doors: I need a dedicated garage door opener while I am working as I have to open/close the door very frequently due to paint pooling up in between partitions. If the door is broken/doesn’t open please understand that if you ever fix it you may need to cut through the paint build up between the panels before you open it for the first time again. It should look fine if you do that, but if you open it all willy nilly like without cutting it first it might pull parts of the paint off around the edges of the panels.

*Front Doors/Exterior House Doors: Some designs don’t require me to open/close a door frequently and others do. Please ask if leaving the front door open might be a problem.

*Mowing/blowing leaves/loose debris/yard work may result in a damaged painting. I won’t be able to paint if any of these things are happening while I am painting.

*Other contractors working in the same area as me that I have to wait for/coordinate with to access the area I need to paint may result in time delays.

*Dangerous/aggressive insects or pest animals that have not been removed from the area may cause delays.

*Please sweep up any loose debris and make sure the area is clear of doggo poops, farm animal poops, and errant foliage/shrubberies.

*If I am painting inside your home, the temperature needs to be 80 degrees or lower. The interior paint I use does not perform well above 80 degrees.

*Please make sure door is clean of dirt and grease. Please clean your door with warm water and a drop of dish soap.  A minimum additional fee of $50 will be added to the final payment if door has not been cleaning. Fee will vary based on severity of delays.

*Fences: All fences need to be power washed 1-2 weeks in advance before I paint. Failure to do so may result in paint not adhering properly.  If it is going to rain leading up to your fence appointment, please cover your fence so that it remains dry for me to work on. I cannot paint on a wet fence because the paint won’t adhere properly.

*I reserve the right to reschedule an appointment due to inclement weather.

*If the condition of the surface/wall/substrate I am painting is different that it appeared in photos or as described and additional work is required, I will apply an additional fee.

*COVID-19: I am fully vaccinated, therefore according to state orders as of 5/21/2021 I will not be wearing a mask indoors unless it’s requested of me.

 

PAYMENT, PAST DUE FEES, LITIGATION
By paying a deposit you are entering into a binding contract with Art of Adrienne, LLC and are agreeing to these repayment terms.

*ALL FINAL PAYMENTS ARE DUE ON COMPLETION OF SERVICES. FINAL PAYMENTS MUST BE PAID IMMEDIATELY.

*PAST DUE FEES: At 7 Days Past Due (up to) a 25% late fee of your total bill will be incurred. At 14 Days Past Due another (up to) 25% late fee will be added to your bill.  At 21 Days Past Due another (up to) 25% late fee will be added to your bill.  At 30 Days Past Due an Affidavit and Claim will be filed with the State of Michigan.

*At 30 days past due Art of Adrienne LLC reserves the right to repossess any artwork that has not been paid for in full. Repossession may include painting over the mural or repossessing a physical piece of artwork.
