Week 3! This week we got a lot done and more things are starting to take shape. Tod created his first reindeer out of cardboard and now it’s ready to be paper mached. I mainly worked on the candy house. I painted plant pots into peppermints, turned foam pipe covers into frosting, and finished painting details on the house. My mom helped to glue cardboard pieces into a thicker “plywood”. We have a new friend/assistant Liz Swan-Key who painted this giant umbrella top for hours. It sucked up a lot of paint! Now we are getting a little anxious because we have the trailer coming next week and a ton to get done before that!
Above: Our inspiration reindeer flocked ornament, and Tod’s cardboard reindeer. Also a bunch of crochet circles filled with colored cellophane.

Below is a picture of Tod finishing up his reindeer “skeleton” that will be paper mached soon. He used cardboard, duct tape, and a hot glue gun.
I am still working on finishing the candy house, but I ran out of white duct tape! We are using these foam pipe covers to replicate the look of frosting. I wanted it to be more 3d instead of just painting it on. It’s going to look so cute when I’m finished!
No we’re onto week 4 and here is what we have planned: lots of Paper mache, cut out large ornaments and paint them, finish candy house, receive the trailer and start arranging large pieces on it, start receiving more LED lights.
We only have until November 22nd and things seem to be flying by. Getting anxious! Wish us luck!
