OVER $900 RAISED FOR AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF ZOO KEEPERS I recently had the opportunity to paint a real hollowed out Ostrich egg for a fundraiser put on by Dark Art of Michigan! This fundraiser was to raise money for the American Association of Zoo Keepers at Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek Michigan. The money raised went towards conservation, employee training, and animal enrichment. There were about 20 artists that participated and a few of them sent me photos of their work to share on here! The artists raised over $700 plus with additional money the AAZK booth made we raised over $900 combined!
ADRIENNE GELARDI
My egg featured Bird of Paradise flowers, red foliage, a pink background, and a glossy pink pearled top coat. It sat atop of a metallic golden stand! I mainly used Liquitex Acrylic Paints, Golden Paints, Rust-Oleum, and Krylon.
